Last week, PSAU organized a series of academic, health, and career-development programs and activities through its colleges and supporting deanships at its main campus in Al-Kharj and its branches in Hotat Bani Tamim and Wadi Al-Dawasir. The initiatives focused on improving academic quality, serving the community, and preparing students for the labor market.
Academic Quality and Accreditation
As part of its efforts to improve quality and develop academic staff, the Deanship of Development and Quality organized an orientation program for new faculty members for the 1448 AH academic year. The program was attended by Vice President for Educational and Academic Affairs Prof. Mashari bin Ayad Al-Osaimi.
Prof. Ziyad bin Saeed Al-Malki, Dean of Development and Quality, explained that the program familiarized new faculty members with the university’s regulations and policies to help them prepare for their academic and research responsibilities. It included introductory sessions on program quality, academic accreditation, scientific research, educational services, and faculty members’ rights and responsibilities.
In a related development, a team of specialized experts conducted a remote mock accreditation visit to the university in coordination with the Deanship of Development and Quality, in preparation for the actual institutional accreditation visit by the National Center for Academic Accreditation and Evaluation. The visit included meetings with university leaders and students, as well as a review of the self-study report, to identify areas for improvement and complete the accreditation requirements.
