The Intellectual Awareness Unit at Prince Sattam bin Abdulaziz University is dedicated to promoting the values of citizenship, moderation, balance, and institutional responsibility within the university community. It also seeks to strengthen loyalty to Islam, followed by loyalty to the Kingdom's leadership, foster national belonging, and enhance intellectual awareness among the University's students and staff, in accordance with the Regulations Governing Intellectual Awareness Units in Higher Education Institutions.
The Unit was established in support of the Ministry of Education's vision to strengthen the governance of Intellectual Awareness Units and to cultivate a university community characterized by loyalty to Islam, the Kingdom's leadership, and the nation, while promoting the values of tolerance, moderation, and balance.
The Intellectual Awareness Unit at Prince Sattam bin Abdulaziz University was established pursuant to the decision of the Minister of Education (No. 78549), dated 27 Rajab 1442 AH, requiring universities to establish Intellectual Awareness Units in accordance with the Regulations Governing Intellectual Awareness Units in Higher Education Institutions.
Organizationally, the Unit reports directly to the University President and operates under a clear governance framework that encompasses planning, implementation, monitoring, evaluation, and the submission of periodic reports on its activities and achievements.

To foster an educational community characterized by loyalty to Islam, followed by loyalty to the Kingdom's leadership and the nation, while promoting the values of tolerance, moderation, and balance.
Mission
To promote the values of citizenship, moderation, balance, and institutional responsibility within the university community; strengthen loyalty to Islam and national belonging; and enhance intellectual awareness among the University's students and staff.
Objectives
- Strengthen loyalty to Islam and, consequently, to the nation and its noble values.
- Promote a culture of moderation, tolerance, and peaceful coexistence.
- Prevent extremist ideologies and address their negative impacts.
- Monitor intellectual violations and extremist behaviors.
- Encourage research initiatives on intellectual issues while promoting national identity and national unity.
- Monitor and analyze data, violations, emerging trends, and potential risks related to intellectual awareness, as well as institutional and national responsibilities, and develop appropriate corrective plans.
- Propose research studies, programs, and activities that promote intellectual awareness, strengthen national identity and social cohesion, and contribute to the prevention of extremist ideologies
- Develop and review programs that promote moderation, national identity, and social cohesion, and oversee their implementation following approval.
- Prepare and issue periodic reports on the Unit's activities and performance within the University.
- Support international scholarship students by promoting intellectual awareness, moderation, and balance, while strengthening their ties with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The Unit reports organizationally to the Office of the University President. Its organizational structure consists of three sections:
