The Inventory Control Department at the University was established based on the decision of His Excellency the Minister of Finance and National Economy No. 21/4201, dated 11/08/1403H. The Department is responsible for monitoring inventory in the University’s warehouses, as well as overseeing custodial assets across all University sectors, in accordance with Article (22) of the Government Warehouses Rules and Procedures. This is carried out through the following:
▪ Monitoring inventory movements to ensure the continuity and regularity of warehouse operations.
▪ Determining inventory levels to ensure the continuity and regularity of warehouse operations.
▪ Conducting stocktaking activities to facilitate external oversight of warehouses by relevant authorities.
▪ Detecting errors in a timely manner and working to prevent their recurrence in the future.
▪ Preserving the University’s assets by minimizing the loss, damage, or obsolescence of items.

General Objectives:
- Preserving the University’s assets across all warehouses and units.
- Achieving the optimal storage system based on the condition, nature, and type of stored items.
- Ensuring the provision of warehouse services to all University entities.
- Ensuring proper implementation of warehouse systems and procedures within the framework of general regulations.
- Applying the Government Warehouses Rules and Procedures in receiving, issuing, recording entries, and related operations.
- Eliminating warehouse-related issues and reducing errors, deviations, and non-compliant practices to safeguard public funds from loss or waste.
- Conducting necessary studies to determine appropriate inventory levels and economic order quantities, in order to avoid shortages or excess stock and prevent damage or expiration.
- Providing continuous training for all levels of warehouse staff, custodians, and inventory controllers to ensure the effective and practical implementation of the Government Warehouses Rules and Procedures.
- Enhancing the inventory control system to achieve full automation across all operations and systems.
- Ensuring compliance with regulations and bylaws across all departmental operations.
- Supervising stocktaking processes for all University warehouses.
- Approving the operational plans of the Department’s divisions and activities throughout the year.
- Working on developing optimal approaches to enhance the Department’s operations.
- Approving the performance charter and evaluating the job performance of the Department’s staff.
- Following up on periodic and annual reports of the Department.
- Assessing the Department’s needs and working to provide them.
- Distributing tasks among assistants and heads of divisions.
- Proposing the formation of committees related to the Department’s assigned duties.
- Holding regular meetings to discuss work progress and operational matters.
- Performing any other duties assigned within the powers of the University Vice President.
